How does it work?
We use a holistic approach which utilises treatments that focus not only on the mental and physical side to addiction but the spiritual and emotional aspects as well. We introduce our clients to an array of different recovery options so that they can make an informed decision on what works best for them.
There are three main areas that we focus on every-day.
1. Mind – evidence based psychotherapy
2. Body – exercise, nutrition, detoxification and relaxation
3. Soul – mindfulness, yoga, meditation, personal and life-skills development
The combination of these components on a residential programme is incredibly effective. Treating your body and mind at the same time is what holistic health is all about. You will have the chance to concentrate on your whole health for an extended period of time whilst surrounded by supportive experienced people that are focused on your success using both medical and natural methods.
What are the visiting restrictions?
Visiting hours are Saturday 12pm – 4pm and Sunday 4pm – 8pm. Guests must be pre-approved by a staff member before they are allowed to visit our clients. Clients cannot leave site unless prior approval by staff. We encourage our guests to have limited visitors in the initial detoxification stage as this can bring in outside stress.
Where are we located?
We are located in Kumeu, Rodney. Approximately 30 minutes drive from Auckland CBD.
What is the length of stay?
The minimum stay is 14 days. This allows our clients to have 7 days of detoxification and 7 days involved in the recovery program. Clients are required to pay in full prior to their stay. If clients feel they need a longer stay, this can be discussed in their assessment.
How involved can my family be?
At Zen we focus on the holistic recovery of both the individual and their family. We believe that family support is crucial to sustaining recovery. Family members are invited to join us for dinner on Sunday and meet other clients families. Our clinical director is also available to have one on one meetings with family members to discuss the best way to support their loved ones through their journey.
